WHAT IS REGENERATIVE MEDICINE?

As we age, our tissues become damaged, diseased, or may suffer from congenital defects. Regenerative medicine is the leading scientific medical treatment for repairing that damage and creating functional, living tissues to replace or repair the tissue or organ function that was lost. But what is regenerative medicine, how does it work, and what can it treat?

WHAT IS REGENERATIVE MEDICINE?

As we age, our tissues become damaged, diseased, or may suffer from congenital defects. Regenerative medicine is the leading scientific medical treatment for repairing that damage and creating functional, living tissues to replace or repair the tissue or organ function that was lost.

Stem cells increase healing, reduce inflammation, and prevent scarring or tissue damage. Regenerative medicine uses either PRP, platelet-rich plasma, or amniotic cord stem cell therapy.

PRP VS. AMNIOTIC STEM CELLS

What Is PRP?

Platelet Rich Plasma, or PRP, utilizes the cells from your own blood to repair injured and damaged tissues. The process begins with one of our Naturopathic Doctors drawing your blood and spinning it in a centrifuge. Your plasma is extracted from this process and then injected into the injured or damaged areas. PRP is often used for more cosmetic purposes, such as hair restoration, undereye bags, or during a microneedling treatment. However, it can be very beneficial for tendon, ligament, and joint damage.

What Are Amniotic Stem Cells?

Amniotic fluid and the inner layer of the placenta are both extremely potent sources of regenerative cells. Amniotic stem cells are administered through an IV and include growth factors, cytokines, chemokines, microRNA, and more. The cells help repair damaged tissue and facilitate cellular activity and repair. This material is obtained from consenting, live donors after a scheduled c-section. No babies or mothers are harmed during this process and it is FDA regulated.
